Description
We are wanting a female chocolate Labrador around 3-4 years old or a Golden Retriever of the same age
For ease of reading, I have provided the following information, which hopefully gives you some sense of 1. What we could offer a either of these dogs.2. A little about ourselves and 3. Information on our home and lifestyle.
What we could offer either of these dogs
Firstly, a loving home. Secondly, she would be provided with the best environment, and the very best Veterinary care, should we be lucky enough to get her.
We live in a fairly large home (no stairs) with floorboards and a big back yard which is fully fenced and very secure. The fencing is a six foot colour-bond type with secure metal side gates on either side of the house. Photos can be provided, if you want.
The dog would be walked daily by my husband and on weekends, both of us would be taking the dog to nearby parks and bush trails that we have near our home.
The Dog would be fed with what the current owner suggests, or what we have used previously which has been Black Hawk or Purina Pro. Additionally, fresh water every day. We would naturally provide any supplements or ongoing medication that she may require.
The Dog would most likely sleep inside or wherever she likes. She would have access both inside and out via a dog door that we have installed. She would be provided with good bedding, both inside and on our covered back deck, given toys and interactive games to play with
A little about us and our lifestyle.
I recently retired a few months ago, so I am home quite a lot. My husband will retire at the end of the next financial year. We don’t have children or other pets. I have been keeping myself busy (other than COVID restrictions) with volunteering with Assistant Dogs Australia out at Waterfall, south of Sydney. I was doing mostly administrative work, but interacted with the puppies, the dogs and their trainers constantly. I absolutely loved it and learnt so much about the Labrador Breed from my time there.
My husband is still working (from home at the moment, like a lot of people) but will eventually go back to the office once this COVID madness is over. My husband loves to walk daily and is quite fit and very keen to walk our new Dog
Our lifestyle is very laid back and casual, we like seeing our friends, walking down the beach (Cronulla Beach is a 10 minute drive) going out for dinner and having people over for BBQ’s
We do like to travel (well, not at the moment) but plan on having 2-3 short holiday breaks a year. The time away would be between 10-12 days. Our dog would be looked after well when we are gone, as we have a standing arrangement with our neighbour. To mind our dog when we are away. Our neighbour minded our dog Lizzie when we were away, that was up until June this year.
In referencing Lizzie, She was our 16 years old Golden Retriever, who we had from 12 weeks old. Lizzie had CCD (Canine Cognitive Disease) and bad arthritis. We had to have her put to sleep in early June this year. Naturally, she was our baby and we were devastated when she passed. However, we know that another dog would not be replacing Lizzie, as all dogs give you something different, mostly love and loyalty.
Our home and surrounds.
We live in Caringbah South, which is in the southern suburbs of Sydney, in a quiet dead end street, having great parks and bush trails and beaches on our doorstep, so our new Dog.would have lots of variety and careful interactions with other dogs.
Please consider our Adoption application. Please note that we are emotionally and financially able to give a dog abeautiful home, one that she will be loved and cared for. We hope we are successful in our quest to obtain a dog fitting our requirements and look forward to your reply
Judy and Michael Phillpott.
